The global box office has a new king in Avengers: Endgame.

The superhero extravaganza this weekend usurped Avatar to become the highest-grossing film of all time, with an estimated US$2.79bil (RM11.466bil) in worldwide grosses in just 13 weeks.

Avatar held onto the record for a decade at US$2.789bil (RM11.462bil).

The title comes with a few caveats, however, including the fact that Avatar’s grosses are not adjusted for inflation. Also, domestically, Avengers: Endgame is No. 2 to Star Wars: The Force Awakens by around $80 million.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige gave a shout-out to Avatar director James Cameron Saturday night at San Diego Comic-Con for holding the record for so long. Feige also noted the inflation technicality and said Cameron will probably hold the title again someday.

The updated version contains new footage (Smart Hulk saving a group of people) and a post-credits scene (Nick Fury and Maria Hill arriving in a Mexican village). The latter is basically sets up the newly-released “Spider-Man: Far From Home”.

Although hardcore fans took the effort to revisit the movie another time, many criticized Marvel for pulling a cheap stunt just to beat James Cameron’s global box office record for “Avatar”. It’s not the re-released version gave us deleted scenes or new footage within the movie. Even some bloopers wouldn’t be so bad right?

Having said that, it appears that “Avengers: Endgame” still won’t be able to overtake the $US 2.788 billion record of “Avatar” at the global box office. At the present moment, the superhero blockbuster is still $US 27 million short of achieving the world record.

Over the past few days, several YouTubers have taken it upon themselves to upload the end credit scenes. You can watch it below before it gets deleted:

On the bright side though, at least, we now have gained a few new memes.

Not over the Endgame? Then do we have great news for you.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed in an interview with ComicBook.com that Avengers: Endgame will return to theaters as early as next week — with bonus footage to offer up to hungry fans not satiated by the film’s already three-hour runtime.

“We are doing that,” said Feige. “I don’t know if it’s been announced. And I don’t know how much… Yeah, we’re doing it next weekend.”

Disney has yet to make an official announcement for the Avengers: Endgame rerelease, and did not immediately respond to Mashable’s request for confirmation.

However, dropping Endgame back in theaters before the July 2 debut of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the final chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Three, would be a smart move for the studio.

With a world-wide box office pull of $2.743 billion (quivering just below Avatar at $2.788 billion for the record of highest-grossing film of all time per Box Office Mojo), Endgame is by far the most lucrative of Marvel’s ventures. Certainly, there’s more dust to be shaken out of this rug — if you’ll pardon the expression.

In a separate interview with Screen Rant, Feige clarified that this was “not an extended cut,” but a version of the film with “a few new things at the end of the movie.”

“If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises,” he teased.

A listing for the rerelease from the theater chain Cinemark promises seven minutes of bonus content, and a tribute to late comics legend Stan Lee.

The original theatrical release of Endgame, which clocked in at 181 minutes, did not have a post-credits scene. It did have a nod to Lee in the form of his final MCU cameo, as a 1970s hippie who yells “Make love, not war!” as he drives by.

No details on the ticket sales have been provided as of yet. Keep your eyes peeled for an official announcement soon, and get ready to soar back into the Endgame.

“Avengers: Endgame” has officially surpassed the US$2 billion mark in ticket sales in its 2nd weekend in cinemas, beating “Avengers: Infinity War”, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, and “Titanic”.

Given that it’s the fastest film to hit the US$2 billion mark, it is expected to surpass “Avatar”’s US$2.7 billion total gross. So what’s next? Word on the street has it that Disney and Marvel are planning to make a big push for “Endgame” ahead of the 2019-2020 award circuit.

Fandango’s Erik Davis revealed that Marvel Studios recently screened “Avengers: Endgame” for members of the Academy. Many feel that this could be a major campaign for the superhero blockbuster as we approach next year’s awards season.

Although superhero flicks then to have a bad track record with Academy voters, Marvel Cinematic Universe has been making waves at the Academy Awards. Earlier this year, “Black Panther” was nominated for 7 Oscars including Best Picture. It end up with 3 gongs for Best Original Score, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design.

Fans feel like “Avengers: Endgame” does stand a good chance in getting recognition in the production design and visual effects categories. Meanwhile director Joe Russo thinks that Robert Downey Jr., deserves a nod for portraying Iron Man.

“His cumulative body of work from these movies is staggering. If you look at the work over just even the last 4 (Marvel) films he’s done, it’s phenomenal… He deserves an Oscar perhaps more than anyone in the last 40 years because of the way that he has motivated popular culture,” the filmmaker told The Washington Post.

What do you think? Will the Oscar voters favor “Avengers: Endgame” like how they did with “Black Panther”?

Disney and Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame has stormed into historic territory, earning US$2.19 billion worldwide in less than two weeks to become the No. 2 film of all time, industry watcher Exhibitor Relations reported Sunday.

That exalted number, which includes the film’s estimated take of US$145.8 million this three-day weekend in North America, pushes the superhero blockbuster past Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which netted US$2.07 billion, and even Titanic”(US$2.18 billion).

Only Avatar (US$2.79 billion) has done better. Yet Avengers hit its record total in just 11 days, taking in a stunning US$575.8 million in China alone.

Hollywood analysts predict a long run for Avengers, which drew a rare 96 per cent rating on the Rotten Tomatoes website and features a star-studded cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Bradley Cooper and Josh Brolin.

Trailing Avengers by several light years, rival studios still managed to place new films in the next three box-office spots.

Sony’s psychological thriller The Intruder came in second, at US$11 million. Michael Ealy and Meagan Good star as a young couple who buy a dream home in California’s Napa Valley unaware that its previous owner (Dennis Quaid) plans to take it back – at all costs.

In third was Lionsgate’s romantic comedy Long Shot, at US$10 million. Seth Rogen plays Fred Flarsky, an out-of-work journalist who has a romantic interest in his former babysitter (Charlize Theron) who – now a candidate for the US presidency – might seem a bit out of his reach.

STX Films’ animated film UglyDolls placed fourth, at US$8.5 million. The plot? A bunch of misfit dolls with pointy ears and bad teeth – residents of Uglyville – face a harsh world but finally discover their inner beauty. The voices of Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Wanda Sykes and Janelle Monae are featured.

In fifth place, hanging strong in its ninth week out, was Disney’s Captain Marvel, at US$4.3 million. Brie Larson stars as a former fighter pilot who gains superpowers.

This is no longer spoiler, this is piracy! A certain food court in Manjung, Perak had illegally downloaded the full movie of “Avengers: End Game” and casually showed it to the public.

A Twitter user by the handle @NadzrinIqbal shared an IG story which he took from someone else, showing a clip from the “Endgame” which was recorded in cam quality.

“A shop in Manjung downloaded ‘Endgame’ illegally and showcased it to the public. This is more than just a spoiler. Who should I report this to? he tweeted.

“Avengers: Endgame” gave us a proper swan song to 21 Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. One of the highlights in the movie was noticing familiar cameos. And that includes Harley Keener.

Who is Harley Keener? Well before we proceed, consider this your final warning as the following post contains heavy spoilers from the blockbuster film.

Many were left scratching their heads wondering who’s the mysterious kid that showed up at Tony Stark aka Iron Man’s funeral. It’s none other Harley Keener, who may be unrecognizable now that he’s a young adult.

Played by Ty Simpkins, we first saw Harley as a boy in “Iron Man 3”. In case you can’t remember, he helped Tony rebuild his Mark suit after Iron Man after the superhero was left stranded in Tennessee. After the battle in New York, the billionaire inventor not only gave the kid some advice on handling school bullies but also left a whole bunch of goodies in his garage.

Ty was only 11 when “Iron Man 3” came out in 2013. He’s now 17. “(It) was cool. He stayed in characters the whole time, but he was really nice, and he made it easy to work with him,” he previously talked about his experience on set with Robert Downey Jr.

In speaking with Entertainment Weekly, directors Anthony and Joe Russo explained why Harley appeared at the memorial service. “Clearly Tony had an effect on him,” Joe Russo said. We have a feeling that this isn’t the last time we’ve seen Harley. As in the case of Marvel, there are usually no coincidences.

The biggest forbidden when it comes to the latest Marvel movie, Avengers: Endgame is revealing the spoilers to the people who have not watched it!

Marvel fans have been pleading everyone not to spoil the latest movie, but it seems like one Hong Kong man didn’t care.

On the day the movie was released, many fans queued in front of the cinema waiting for their first-hand Endgame experience. It’s reported that a man in a white shirt exited the cinema and started revealing the spoilers LOUDLY at the entrance. OMG, other people were there just for this movie!

According to TVBS News, a few cinema goers were enraged as this man uncovered key spoilers, so they attacked him and beat him up to the point where his face was covered in blood!

Netizens commented that he “got what he deserved”, and they also “felt great seeing this”. Some people also speculated the credibility of this circulating photo, but several Netizens claimed that they were at a cinema in Causeway Bay, and they did hear someone revealing the spoilers at the entrance.

It’s not the best idea to beat people up to avenge the fans who have yet to watch this movie, but is there anything else that they can do to stop people from spreading spoilers?

We understand that it’s difficult to contain the excitement after watching Avengers: Endgame, and it’s absolutely fine to discuss this movie with your friends who have watched it, but please consider other people and let them enjoy their experience!

Avengers: Endgame surpassed all expectations and has gone on to break box office records and become the highest-grossing box office opening of all time.

Disney announced that the film had taken home $1.209 billion(RM4.96 billion) worldwide in its opening weekend, breaking the opening-day record of last year’s Avengers: Infinity War which took home $640.5 million(RM2.6 billion).

If that’s not enough, Box Office Mojo has stated the film took $1.015(RM4.19 billion) billion at the global box office in its opening weekend, meaning it is definitely the first film to join the billion-dollar club in its opening weekend.

This is the eighth Marvel Studios film to join that special group of films.

The following records were also taken home by the Mickey Mouse studio, which also owns huge properties such as the Star Wars franchise and its Pixar animation films.

Disney’s statement today claimed the film took home $350 million(RM1.4 billion) in domestic gross over Avengers: Infinity War at $257.6 million
(RM1.06 billion) , with International gross at $859 million
(RM3.5 billion) , beating The Fate of the Furious, which earned $443.1 million(RM1.83 billion) in non-U.S. ticket sales.

The film also made a domestic  US single-day gross of $156.7 million (RM644 million) on Friday, while in China it made $107.8 million on its opening day, along with $330.5 million(RM1.36 billion) in its opening weekend there.

Endgame also has the biggest IMAX global debut ever at $91.5 million(RM378 million).

Avengers: Endgame is all everyone is talking about right now and it makes sense because the hype on social media has been through the roof ever since the first trailers began to drop a few months ago! This movie is said to be the longest and the most emotional one, and even Chris Evans cried six times watching the movie! But is it really that emotional?

Well, that definitely seems to be case for this particular university student as she cried for three hours while watching Avengers: Endgame and had to be rushed to the hospital after the movie ended! This incident happened on 24 April in Zhejiang, China.

According to sn.people, the 21-year-old lady and her friends went for the first screening of the movie and she was deeply engrossed with the plot developments. While others were sobbing quietly, she was crying and breathing heavily after watching a certain scene which broke her heart. No spoilers har!

After exiting the cinema, she felt a sudden pain in her chest and struggled to breathe. Her limbs started feeling numb and displayed symptoms of spasms, including having her fists tightly clenched. Upon seeing that, her friends immediately called an ambulance and rushed her to the hospital.

The on-duty doctor who treated the patient said, “I saw her gasping for air, and based on her friends’ description, we figured she must’ve cried too much which resulted in hyperventilation. We then immediately put on an oxygen mask for her and tried to calm her down so her symptoms would go away.”

She was cleared to go home the same night after the treatment. Judging from her reaction, she must be a die-hard Marvel fan who just couldn’t bear with the shocking plot twists in Avengers: Endgame. Is the movie really that emotional? Let us know what you think in the comments! Again, no spoilers!
